1:1 Support

1:1 Individual Support

At ABC Disability Group, our 1:1 Support is all about the individual. We provide personalised, person-centred support tailored to each participant’s goals, interests, abilities and support needs.

Having dedicated 1:1 support gives participants the opportunity to build confidence, develop independence and take part in activities that are meaningful to them — all with the support and encouragement of a trusted support worker by their side.

What Can 1:1 Support Look Like?

Our 1:1 supports can focus on a wide range of individual goals, including:

  • Community Access – getting out into the community, visiting local attractions, shopping, attending appointments or exploring new places.

  • Life Skills – developing everyday skills such as cooking, shopping, budgeting, money handling, planning and following routines.

  • Social & Communication Skills – building confidence when communicating with others, making choices and developing meaningful social connections.

  • Independence – encouraging participants to make decisions, try new things and complete everyday tasks with greater independence.

  • Health & Wellbeing – participating in walks, sport, recreation and activities that support an active lifestyle.

  • Hobbies & Interests – exploring individual interests and finding activities that participants genuinely enjoy.

  • Volunteering & Employment Skills – building workplace confidence, responsibility, communication and practical skills through meaningful community opportunities.

  • Personal Goals – working towards goals that are important to the participant at their own pace.

Support That Is Built Around You

We understand that no two participants are the same. What independence looks like for one person may be completely different for another.

That’s why our 1:1 support isn't a one-size-fits-all program. We take the time to understand each participant and create meaningful opportunities that match their interests and goals.

Whether it's learning to order independently at a café, practising money skills at the shops, attending a favourite activity, volunteering in the community, developing cooking skills or simply building the confidence to try something new, our team is there to provide the right level of support and encouragement.

Building Confidence, Skills & Independence

Our goal is not just to support participants today, but to help them develop skills they can carry with them into the future.

Through positive experiences, encouragement and consistent support, we aim to empower participants to make choices, build confidence, strengthen their independence and become active members of their community.

At ABC Disability Group, 1:1 support is about more than having a support worker by your side — it's about having someone who believes in your abilities, celebrates your achievements and supports you to learn, grow and thrive.
